As a mom I had to get some pictures before Sophia cut her hair. You see at 6 years old, she has never had a hair cut. Unless, of course, you count when she cut her bangs when nobody was looking. She announced to me a few weeks ago that she was ready, and she wanted it short, even all the way around. She had seen it in a book one day when her brother was having his hair cut. I’m not one to argue with her when she has her heart set on something.

So, into the studio we went to capture her before she changed. Before she grew up a little bit more. Why do they have to do that anyway?!

When I look at Sophia, I see a determined and powerful girl. She is strong willed and she will grow up to be a strong woman. Right now she likes to show off the missing teeth and her muscles.

While I know that I can’t stop her from growing up, as least I can capture her during all of these special moments. These memories for me will fill my blog and as prints will fill my house.

I’m looking forward to taking her back into the studio to show off her new cut. Hopefully, that will happen this week. Today is after all, the first day of 1st grade.
